Prestige Heritage Italian Winery in Piedmont
Selected Wine for Tsar Nicholas II State Banquet
From the great Barolo vineyards of Liste, Cannubi, Cannubi San Lorenzo and Fossati. The wine is ex-cellar from winery to have the best storage.
Light garnet red with light orange nuances. The nose reveals beautiful notes of cocoa, tobacco, licorice and china. A clumpy trace, almost in spirit, opens to a balsamic taste, elegant, dry and of great harmony. A still alive tannic plot delineates the stretch up to a closure of incredible gustatory persistence.
Borgogno is the family name behind one of the oldest wine-making houses in Piedmont: ever since its foundation in1761.
One demonstration of this status is the choice of Barolo Borgogno for the grand official lunch celebrating the unification of Italy in 1861, and for the 1886 banquet in honour of Tsar Nicholas II Romanov, guest of Italy's reigning Savoy family.
