Kolbenhof Gewurztraminer 2014, 750 ml (１支)
Gewurztraminer Spatlese 2012, 375 ml (１支)
Gewurztraminer: A selection of Gewurztraminer from Hofstatter's Kolbenhof estate. The Kolbenholf vineyard is one of South Tyrol's grand crus for Gewurztraminer, thanks to the happy combination of the particular micro-climate, the ideal location and the age of the vines.
Gewurztraminer Spatlese: A unique dessert wine, with late-harvest Gewurztraminer made from grapes specially selected from various sites surrounding Tramin. Aged in small casks for 12 months and then for 6 months in bottle.
Gewurztraminer: The wine is characterized by sumptuous fruit. Deep golden yellow with green reflexes, on the nose it is reminiscent of ripe apricot and peach intermingled with exotic fruits such as lychee, mango and passion fruit. The fruit characteristics follow through on the palate. Full-bodied, luscious but dry, enlivened by vibrant & firm acidity and a dimension of elegance balancing the wine’s almost over-opulent concentration. Elegant finish. Dry and aromatic. Enormous length.
Gewurztraminer Spatlese: The wine is golden yellow. An intense and concentrated aroma is released as soon as the wine is poured, reminiscent of exotic fruits such as mango, papaya with a hint of pineapple and lychee, all of which follows through on the palate; opulent, ambrosial with mouth-cleansing acidity to balance the luscious sweetness melting into a monumental finish.
Josef Hofstatter found the winery in the year of 1907. It's the only family-operated winery in South Tyrol that owns vineyards on both the west and east sides of the Adige River. With this, they possess a large diversity of microclimatic zones.
With around 50 hectares of estate property vineyards, the Josef Hofstatter winery is among the largest wineries in Alto Adige. The vineyards are situated from 250 to 800 metres above sea level (800 and 2,600 foot), which makes the cultivation of diverse grape varieties possible.
